West
Central’s agronomy department implemented its Professional
Services program in 1981. The Professional Services
program offered members grid sampling services in
five-acre increments per soil type. This service also
included soil test data, nutrient recommendations, and
intensive crop scouting.
As technology has
evolved, so has the precision and accuracy of the services
offered through West Central’s Professional Services
program. Today’s technology now allows us to quantify
information in real time through the use of Global
Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning Systems
(GPS).
As production costs
increase, today’s producer must become more efficient.
West Central’s precision ag services allows us to assist
our members in making key decisions that will ultimately
lead to a more efficient use of crop nutrients, and the
ability to achieve bottom-line profitability through the
precise placement of product.
