As
earnestly as West Central works to build relationships and
earn the trust of our corn and soybean producers, the
cooperative works equally as hard with our members raising
livestock. Since it began processing feed in the ’40’s, West
Central has worked with hundreds of livestock producers, and
each of their stories is unique.
The story of servicing a member’s livestock nutritional need
can be complex. West Central’s nutrition department is
constantly working to keep pace with the ever changing, and
always evolving, livestock business. The nutrition team
takes great pride in working with members to find the right
solutions for their businesses. From finding partner
entities and establishing feed budgets, to running
individual cash flows, West Central is there to assist
farmers in forming the most successful operation possible.
They are constantly working to align producers with
organized program driven business partners to enhance the
profitability and members’ dollar retention.
West Central has three feed manufacturing facilities and
nine bagged feed location sites which help serve the needs
of our members. Feed manufacturing facilities are located in
Boxholm, Halbur and Ralston. Bagged feed is also available
at the Scranton, Boone, Jefferson, Audubon, Exira, and Adair
locations.
Together, the four feed mills manufacture thousands of tons
of feed each week for area cattle and hog operations.
Manufactured feed adds value to members who deliver their
corn and beans to West Central.
West Central’s goal is to deliver quality services to the
producers it serves. These services include:
